Vipassana: Silent Journey

Vipassana, which can be translated as “insight” or to see things as they actually are, is one of the oldest Buddhist techniques of meditation. Vipassana is different from mindfulness meditation, which focuses on awareness, or transcendental meditation, which uses a mantra. The goal is to gradually purify the mind through removing attachments, which is done by very neutrally observing and concentrating on the breath or body sensations exclusively.

The class will have a brief introduction followed by a completely silent Vipassana meditation journey. A bell will be rung every couple of minutes, with complete silence in between. The bell is your gentle reminder to bring the mind back to the breath and present moment, in the event you have wandered.

A mindful Q&A is a social and interactive learning experience, open to the meditation.live community following most classes. Mindful Q&A provides students with the opportunity to connect, engage in conversation, ask questions and share their meditation experience following the LIVE class.
